Call Me Cupid: Military Moves & Finding the Right Real Estate Agent
It’s PCS time. Again. It’s time to pack up all of your worldly possessions and move to a new town, maybe even a new country. It’s time to start over. Again. You’ll need some help. Maybe you have friends at your new assignment and maybe you’ll get a sponsor but one of the most important people you’ll need if you plan to buy or sell property is a real estate agent. How do you find one? Maybe a friend has a recommendation but more than likely, you turn to the internet. Now what? You surf a few profiles and pick one. If you’re diligent, you might interview a few over the phone but most do not. Hopefully you get lucky and find a good one. Maybe not.
Call me. This is what I do. I help military members and their families find the right agent in the locations they need them. I get you. I’ve been on both the enlisted and officer side of the house. I’ve been active duty, a veteran and a spouse. I’m a wife, a mom and most importantly in this case a real estate agent. I call the UK home while my husband is assigned overseas, but I continue to work in real estate; making sure you get the agent that is not only competent but meets your needs and your individual personality. No easy task.
Maybe you need an agent to help you sell your current house or one to help you buy your next. This matters. Maybe you’re a first-time-buyer or a seasoned pro. This matters. Maybe you plan on paying cash, or maybe a loan. Maybe you’re not sure yet. This matters. Maybe you have a large family with three dogs, big furniture, a large down-payment and plan to retire after this assignment. Maybe you’re single with no savings yet but some treasured recreational vehicles, a love of wide-open spaces and a desire to break into investment properties. You might be straight-laced or the laid back. High tech or old-school. All of these things matter when choosing an agent.
Call me cupid. I’ve put countless friends and clients in touch with some of the best agents out there, quite often vets and mil spouses themselves. They’ll take care of you. They’ll help you find lenders with solid customer service (I can’t emphasize how important this is but more on that later) and competitive rates. They can even help you find a good hairstylist. Their value is limitless. They might even become your first friend in a new town.
